VERY SAD NEWS!! Sheridan Yelliot, CRRC Historian, passed away at the age of 90 at his daughter's home in Wilmore, KY on Wednesday, February 23. Sheridan was our senior member with over 65 years continuous membership. He was totally dedicated to the Club and will be missed by all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, he requested that donations be made to the CRRC. Our thoughts and prayers are with Sheridan and his family at this time of sorrow. A local memorial service is being planned by the family and additional information will be provided as it is available. Jim O'Dell

Gibson Yungblut passed away this morning. He was a member of the Cincinnati Railroad Club since 1963. He was known affectionately as "Mr. Union Terminal" because of his great interest in the Cincinnati Union Terminal and his tireless effort to preserve its history and artifacts from it. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew him.

YUNGBLUT Gibson R. husband of the late Estella B. Yungblut (nee Beggs) beloved father of Mark (Lisa) and David (Emily) Yungblut and Kate (Frank) Hart, dear grandfather of Jack, Sophie, Charlotte, Lucy, and Alexandra Yungblut. April 7, 2009. Age 76 years. Residence Anderson Twp. Service at the Norman Chapel Spring Grove Cemetery on Tues. April 14, at 2 PM. Friends may visit at T P White & Sons Funeral Home 2050 Beechmont Ave. Mt. Washington on Mon. from 5-8 PM. Gibson was a retired attorney with Frost Brown & Todd. Memorials to Cincinnati Railroad Club.

At the August meeting a piece of paper was passed around for people to fill out to have their e-mail addresses put on a list to be informed about e.g.-The Chinese steam engine that R.J. Corman bought when it ran from Louisville to Lexington or any rail related item of interest. If you would like to have your name added to this list e-mail the club at cincinnatirrclub@hotmail.com.

Our program this month will be a Tribute to Ronnie Stahl, who passed away in April. Ron was always full of stories about CUT and was a major help in the days when we ran steam trips. This will be an appropriate remembrance.

At 10:00 A.M. on June 21, 2008 the Bradford Ohio Railroad Museum dedicated BF Tower. There were various activities all afternoon. The museum is located in a former bank building at the corner of State Route 721, Miami Ave., and Main Street in Bradford. Bradford is located on the former PRR 83.1 miles west of Columbus and was the junction of the main to Chicago and the main to New Paris. The dedication was attended by club members Dan Macke and Otis "Armstrong" Flinchpaugh. For pictures of the dedication click here.

To celebrate the 75th Anniversary of the Cincinnati Union Terminal members of the Cincinnati Railroad Club set up a display showing the history of C.U.T., a detailed view of the concourse, the trains that left from C.U.T.(with the George Washington, The Cincinnatian, and the James Whitcomb Riley being highlighted), alternate proposals for the use of C.U.T., club trips from C.U.T., and films and exhibits that have been at the Cincinnati Museum Center. This morning two retired CSX employees, John and Mike Acken, visited Tower A and reminisced about taking the Pan American to visit their grandmother in Tennessee in their youth. They are thinking about making a model railroad layout with Cincinnati Union Terminal as part of the layout. They were very impressed with Tower A and the club's library so much so that they took membership application forms with them. Visiting the Tower can have that effect on railfans. The program for this month will be presented by local railfan, Brian Collins of Railway Exposition, a Private Car Owner who will speak on the pros and cons of private car ownership and what the future holds for Amtrak. This month's meeting will be in the Old Newsreel Theater by the Children's Museum entrance instead of Tower A. July 3-9 2005
The NMRA Convention will be in Cincinnati and they will be visiting Tower A during the week. There will be a special display in Tower A showing model railroading through the years, accompanied by displays of club member's model trains. For pictures click here.

Holiday Junction was a huge success where there were 7000 visitors to Tower A. Thanks to all who volunteered to host Tower A during the holiday season. Check out pictures of the Holidays at Tower A. Fr. Dale Peterka has been invited to WinterRail in Stockton, California on March 12, 2005 to present his "Postcards from Promontory" slide program. That's quite an honor. The Michigan Star Clipper Dinner Train has made a special offer to all members of the Cincinnati Railroad Club. The offer is $7 off each fare on a dinner train departure of their choice. There are brochures in the card rack in Tower A that give more information on this dinner train and a copy of an e-mail sent us explaining the offer in more detail is on the club bulletin board.

In Dennison, Ohio many railfans attending Trainfest 2004 had the opportunity to ride behind Steam Engines and vintage Diesel Engines as well as enjoy many other facets of railroading.
